Teenage "Demo EP"
Teenage is the name for the songs of Quad City musician and espresso aficionado Jamie Warren. With a style and swagger all his own Jamie performs these songs sometimes all alone or more often than not with a backing band comprised of other members of the Sound and Vision Collective. The songs range in mood from soft hush-sung lullabies to full out rockers. It's catchy, it's genuine, and the melodies will no doubt get stuck in your head.
This is a free six song demo. The first three songs were recorded at Sound and Vision Recording Studio in Moline. They feature Ray Malone playing drums on tracks one and two and Aiden Landman playing keys on track three. The later part of the EP is from a live recording made during a performance at the Rock Island based night cafe Rozz Tox.
Check out this live video made by Deep Cuts own Jon Burns. Featuring Ian Lambach on second guitar.

DCR008: Tambourine "Songs"
Deep Cuts is proud to present a sneak peak EP release by Quad City band Tambourine. Tambourine is the musical brainchild of Chad Gooch (formerly of Humans). It started off as a studio project, but has transformed into what is now a full band. Including his brother Matt on drums, former Humans band member Mike Segura on bass, and local musical virtuoso vagabond Brian Yonts on keys to round it all off. This debut EP features five songs all of which can be caught during their live performances. This release is available in CD format, as well as, in free download format over at the Tambourine BANDCAMP

Centaur Noir vs. Donnie Bobb "Radar Lust"
Download: Centaur Noir vs. Donnie Bobb "Radar Lust"
Deep Cuts presents another installation in their collaboration series with Centaur Noir vs. Donnie Bobb's "Radar Lust." Centaur Noir is the electronic one man band project from Meth and Goats vocalist Jon Burns. Donnie Bobb is a battle-tested veteran of the Quad Cities music scene. In the 90's he sang and played guitar in The Adaptors (the band whose other members went on to form the band Driver of The Year). After The Adaptors Donnie continued to write songs and for a time played under the name The Vow and now as a member of the up-and-coming band Break Up Art.
During the recording of Radar Lust neither Burns nor Bobb occupied the same space. Each song started with a basic idea then grew into full songs as the tracks were sent back and forth from one another. Burns would come up with a beat and/or synth part then send the tracks to Bobb who would then come up with his own additions and vice versa. For the track entitled "Tragedy" Burns took the lyrics Donnie had written for an earlier song (Animal Ballons) and transposed them to the new and more "hip hop" sounding song. Check out the videos below for the songs "Radar Lust" and "Animal Ballons" and then download the EP for free!

DCR007: Meth and Goats "Leisure Time"
2011 marks the release of the full length album "Leisure Time" from midwest noise rockers Meth and Goats. Recorded live at Sound and Vision Studios except for Jon Burns' vocals it comes across raw like watching them in a mold filled sweaty unfinished basement with a busted p.a. connected to speakers that were ready to burst into flames leaving your pores filled with soot and grime. Which seemed to be their natural enviroment touring the east coast and the deep south in the mid 2000's. Check out the title track and the new video for "Filled up on Candies" below.

VIDEO: Chris Colson "No Good"
Check out this video from our friend Chris Colson a Milwaukee native that recently relocated to the Quad Cites. He was found wandering up and down the Mississippi River howling songs about injustice and heart break until he found like minded folks. This video was filmed at 4:30 in the morning by the talented people over at hearnebraska.org and keep your eyes peeled for a Chris Colson recording from Deep Cuts in the near future.

Centaur Noir's "B Sides" is a 6 song EP collection of tracks that didn't quite make it on to the "Rock The Hall" album. The songs featured on this release vary between the folkier acoustic beginnings and the ushering in of things being more electronic. The track "We Will Ride" was recorded pre Sound and Vision and features Dennis Hockaday on Drums, Mike Gentry on extra guitar, and Ray Malone on Piano.
